\u201cHello, everyone. As introduced, I served as a UN Volunteer in places such as Cambodia and Mozambique, working on peacebuilding and democratization.
\nI remain committed to the value of democracy. Around the world today, the notion that \u2018might makes right\u2019 is spreading; politics that seem to permit anything for national self-interest is becoming prevalent\u2026 Precisely in such times, we must defend and build democracy\u2014a society that respects the voices of the vulnerable and minorities.
\nAs a new \u2018law of the jungle\u2019 takes shape, Japan must focus on coexistence with weaker countries in the international community. As a prerequisite, we must build a more democratic world.
